Multiple on Invested Capital (MOIC)

Multiple on Invested Capital (MOIC) is an investment return metric that compares the gross amount invested in an asset to the asset’s current value.

Example: MOIC of 1.50x means that the principal investment amount has increased in value by 50%. An asset purchased for $1M and now is worth $1.5M.
