Return on Equity (ROE)

Return on equity measures the return of capital invested by shareholders in a company expressed as a percentage.

Formula:
Return on equity (ROE) = Net Income in a year / Shareholders’ equity

Example:
$1000 Net Income / $100 Invested = 10% ROE
